About me and my bankruptcy

The fact that I am a discharged bankrupt seems somewhat ironic considering my financial services background.

From the age of 18 to 22 I attended The University of Manchester. During this time I built up personal debt. At the age of 25 I started my own business within financial services.

The business started off well and I was able to support myself and service my personal debt. However, increased competition soon drove up advertising costs and forced me into insolvency. Bankruptcy was my best option.

Known as Mark Davis, aka “Piggy Bankrupt”, I launched this website to help others. In today’s economic climate, debt and insolvency are very controversial topics. Yet their causes and consequences are typically over simplified, with little understood about them.

Bankruptcy is never going to be a pleasant experience. It should never be discounted as a solution as it may be your best option. Equally, it should not be seen as an easy way out. It most certainly is not.

If you have serious debt problems, it should be understood that there is no easy way out. It may be some time before your feet are firmly on the ground. From experience, the best thing I can suggest is to take advice.

If you would like to ask me any questions about bankruptcy or my bankruptcy experience then please feel free to ask (ask piggy).
